Prep Term 2, 2024 Curriculum Overview
Term Overview
Welcome back to all our existing and new parents and carers in Prep. We have a busy Term 2 ahead of us with lots of exciting things happening. It is very important for students to attend school every day so they do not miss out on any of the curriculum. It is also important for every student to have a healthy breakfast before coming to school to help their concentration and ability to learn. Thank you for the healthy lunches, remember to gauge how much food your child requires and try and limit too many packaged foods if possible. Please put water in the water bottles and try to avoid juice if possible. If names come off lunchboxes and water bottles, make sure you rename them throughout the year to avoid confusion. Just a reminder… No hat, no play! Ensure you have spare clothes in your child’s bag every day. To build a sense of belonging, pride and respect, students are expected to wear their full school uniform:
Before School We encourage parents to drop students off to school after 8:30am. If students arrive before this time, they are to sit in the COLA until the 8:30am bell. |
QParents
QParents is here
Great news: Trinity Beach SS provides our parent community with the opportunity to register for QParents.
We will be sending out invitations for parents to register for QParents next week.
QParents won’t replace the traditional ways you communicate with our school, but it will provide another way to communicate with us.
More information about QParents can be found at https://qparents.qld.edu.au/#/about

This term Prep students will build on their collage skills as well as learn different painting techniques with an array of materials. These will be assembled to create their artwork for this term which will fit into our theme of ‘Bugs, Grubs and All Things Nice’. This will conclude our studies of Visual Arts for the students that have been participating this semester.
Drama
Term 2 will see Prep students respond to, devise and perform drama based on the theme of memories. They will create stories of family and friends as a stimulus and explore improvisation, process drama and dramatic play and then present the drama that communicates ideas about stories of family and friends to an informal audience, ensuring all students have opportunities to develop their higher-order thinking skills.
